Hagar called the Lord by this name beside a fountain of water in the wilderness. God knows all of our thoughts and feelings. Jesus knew the thoughts of those around Him, demonstrating that He is El Roi (Matthew 22:18; 26:21, 34; Luke 5:21-24).
